Esposo is the first president from outside of Generation Z.

Esposo joined Gapla in May 2026, after the former Verdis National Party — which he founded and led — voted to leave the Free Republic of Verdis and join Gapla due to tensions between the party and the Verdisian government. Members of the former party created the Gapla Civic Party, which he has led since its founding.
Esposo was raised in rural communities in Illinois, a state in the United States. Outside of Gapla, he is a teacher with degrees in Education and Curriculum and Instruction.

The Gapla Civic Party (GCP), founded as the Verdis National Party (VNP), is a centrist, populist, and civic nationalist political party in the Federated States of Gapla.

The party advocates civic participation, national unity, and moderate political reform.

History
The party was originally founded in the Free Republic of Verdis in January 2026 and held the title of the first political party in Verdis, however was non-official as the Verdisian government were opposed to officiating any political parties until a permanent settlement is created on their land. Due to a large portion of the founding membership having Scottish ethnicity and origin, the original name and logo were inspired by the Scottish National Party. On the now defunct VNP website the party promoted centre-left ideals, advocating for the creation of a constitution, renewable energy, a social safety net amongst other democratic socialist ideals.

In 2026, following months of increased tension between the party and the Verdisian government and the attitude of the government towards political parties as a whole within Verdis, the party held an internal referendum proposing moving operations to the Federated States of Gapla. Ultimately an overwhelming majority of 74% of the membership body of the party voted in favour of the motion and the party was reformed into the now Gapla Civic Party, largely lead by the same leaders and executive board members as well as Gaplan additions.

In July 2026, the Gapla Civic Party (GCP) and the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) signed a formal coalition agreement, called the National Unity & Reform Accord (NURA), bringing the seats of both parties together in the Provisional Government, while remaining as independent organisations.
Ideology
The party is Centrist and supports civic nationalism.

The party emphasizes citizenship, civic responsibility, democratic participation, and national development. The party has also expressed support for political cooperation with other moderate and reform-oriented movements.

The party is currently a member of the National Unity & Reform Accord (NURA), a cooperation agreement between the Gapla Civic Party (GCP) and the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP)
Organization
The party is currently led by Collin Esposo along with an Executive Board (EB). In 2026, three notable Gaplan politicians—Hendrik Täks, the President of Gapla, Connor Klinkosch, the Deputy President of Gapla, and Amalia Battle, a former independent politician and former President of Gapla—joined the party, giving the party representation in the Provisional Government.

EB members Collin Esposo, Ben Wallace, and Grayson Wilcher were later admitted to the Provisional Government.

Representation
As of 2026, the Gapla Civic Party has 4 seats in the nine-member Provisional Government.

In July 2026, the Gapla Civic Party (GCP) and the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) signed a formal coalition agreement, called the National Unity & Reform Accord (NULA), bringing the seats of both parties together in the Provisional Government, while remaining as independent organisations.
The GCP views tourism as a significant contributor to economic development. The party supports sustainable tourism policies that protect the environment and local communities while promoting long-term economic prosperity rather than short-term exploitation.

Transportation

The GCP regards transportation as a public service that connects people to economic and social opportunities. It supports affordable and accessible public transport alongside well-maintained roads and regional transport links. The party also advocates sustainable investment in transport infrastructure to reduce environmental impacts and strengthen economic growth.

Energy

The GCP supports a transition toward renewable energy sources while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The party argues that energy security and environmental responsibility should be pursued together, with resource management guided by the public interest.

Environment

The GCP supports environmental protection as a key component of national sustainability. It advocates strong climate policies, biodiversity conservation, and high standards for clean air and water. The party states that future generations should inherit a healthy and resilient natural environment.

Civil Rights

Health & Social Services

The GCP regards access to healthcare as a public good and a human right. The party supports a healthcare system that guarantees free access to essential healthcare services for all residents while recognising the need for practical cooperation with neighbouring countries where appropriate. It prioritises preventative healthcare, mental health services, and early intervention programs, while also supporting comprehensive social services for older people, individuals with disabilities, and vulnerable families.

Manifesto Positions

Manifesto 002 – Gun Laws

Manifesto 003 – Drug Use Laws

The GCP supports a drug policy based on public health, crime reduction, and evidence-based decision-making. The party advocates the legalisation of Class C drugs while maintaining the prohibition of Class A drugs due to their greater risks to individual health and public safety.

Manifesto 004 – Abortion Laws

Ideology
The party is Centrist and supports civic nationalism.

The party emphasizes citizenship, civic responsibility, democratic participation, and national development. The party has also expressed support for political cooperation with other moderate and reform-oriented movements.

As of 2026, the Gapla Civic Party has 5 seats in the nine-member Provisional Government.

Platform
Agriculture and natural resources
The party supports sustainable agriculture and responsible stewardship of natural resources. It advocates for balanced regulation that protects the environment and preserves natural resources while avoiding unnecessary restrictions on agricultural businesses.

Arts, media, and culture
The party supports funding educational and public-interest media while maintaining independence and citizen focus to reduce government bias. It supports keeping important and educational media accessible to the public while leaving broader cultural participation to individual choice.

Social welfare and public assistance
The party supports social programs designed to ensure that no one is left behind due to illness, disability, unemployment, or hardship. In addition to financial assistance, it supports targeted programs providing essential goods and services, including hygiene products, child support initiatives, and early-life assistance programs. The party also supports community-driven solutions, nonprofit partnerships, and donation-based initiatives.

Local and community development
The party supports community-focused government that prioritizes the people, land, and society of Gapla over excessive corporate or foreign influence. It believes local communities should lead development where possible, while the central government maintains national consistency, fairness, and accountability.

Constitution and governance
The party supports fair, transparent, and citizen-focused governance. It advocates for limits on corporate and outside financial influence in politics, including restrictions on political donations and sponsorships that undermine equal representation and public trust. The party supports secure national voter registration, expanded early voting, secure mail and absentee voting, accessible polling locations, transparent vote counting, independent election oversight, and public transparency of campaign financing and political spending.
