The Alliance for Reason (AfR) is a right-libertarian, minarchist, and intellectual nationalist party in the Federated States of Gapla. In 2025, the party split from the Grand Rightist Party, then known as the Free Rightist Party, due to disagreements between libertarian and conservative factions of the party. Wyatt Baek has been the party's leader since its founding, and is its sole provisional governor.
History
Ideology and platform
The party is intellectual nationalist, supporting greater immigration for high scorers on cognitive ability tests, and opposes ethnic nationalism, viewing it as tribalistic.
In terms of social policy, the party is liberal, with some conservative elements. The party supports legal same-sex marriage and euthanasia, has anti-police views, supports the legalization of drugs and prostitution, and supports gun rights. The party supports freedom of speech, even for hate speech and other offensive speech. However, the party opposes abortion rights and affirmative action. While the party supports gender self-identification, it opposes the inclusion of gender on government documents.
In terms of economic policy, the party favors a minarchist, market fundamentalist laissez faire capitalist economy with little to no government regulation or welfare, supporting volunteerism and voluntary, private regulation. The party has advocated for a flat percentage income tax to replace all other taxes at the federal and state levels.
