Greater Danubia
Greater Danubia, formerly known as the Danubian Territories, is the national territory of the Federated States of Gapla, consisting of three territories (Gaplastovia, Cristus, and the Fluvial Territory) by the Danube, near the Serbo–Croatian border.
The territories were claimed in 2023 under terra nullius, and are the planned site of Gapla's future permanent settlements. By area, Greater Danubia covers approximately 0.83 km2 (205.2 ac). Gaplastovia (including Brighton Beach) spans approximately 0.37 km2 (91.4 ac), Cristus spans approximately 0.39 km2 (96.7 ac), and the Fluvial Territory spans approximately 0.07 km2 (17.2 ac).
Justification
While Gapla was not the first claimaint to Greater Danubia, it is the only legitimate claimant to these territories following the de facto dissolution of Ongal (returning the territory to terra nullius) and its subsequent claim. Prior claims to Greater Danubia were either invalid, or were valid at the time of the claim but were no longer valid by the time of Gapla's claim.
The first known claim to Gaplastovia (Pocket 2) and Cristus (the pocket west of Apatin) was by the Principality of Ongal. However, following the death of Ongal's monarch, the country's inactivity, and the lack of a legitimate claimant to the country's throne, the territories were returned to terra nullius. As Gapla was the first claimant to the territories following the death of Ongal's monarch, the territories became part of the Federated States of Gapla under terra nullius. There is no known claim to the Fluvial Territory that predates Gapla's claim, and it became part of the Federated States of Gapla under terra nullius following Gapla's claim.
