The Provisional Government, officially the Council of Ministers and formerly the Nationbuilding Council, is the Federated States of Gapla's de facto government. Founded on 20 October 2023 in response to the Danubian reformations, the Provisional Government replaced Gapla's former government on 31 January 2024.

Its members are called ministers or provisional governors, and are selected competitively through an online application open after prospective applicants meet certain requirements. The application includes several essay questions, an optional standardized test, and an interview for those selected as finalists. Members are admitted through a majority vote in the Provisional Government.

History

Activities

The Provisional Government meets weekly to discuss settlement, infrastructure, press, public relations, law, and foreign affairs. It also elects the president and deputy president in annual elections, and builds, plans, and promotes Gapla, including communicating with the press. In addition, it acts as an adjudicatory body prior to the establishment of the Supreme Court. While it established the Gaplan Representation Organization, the organization is no longer a part of the Provisional Government.

Members must attend weekly meetings (or submit an excused absence request) in order to avoid "strikes" and eventual expulsion. A quorum of one more than fifty percent must be met in order for a meeting to proceed, however, members are given "strikes" if they were not present for the quorum call even if a meeting is cancelled.
